Mel is an independent consultant for the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) who supports the work of the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance’s Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification Track and the Transition Financing Track. Previously, she worked in equity research, consumer goods sector analysis, green and sustainability origination, and climate risk integration for private credit.
She holds an MPA in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) in New York and a B. Bus. in Banking and Finance from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She is a CFA Charterholder.
Stephen Voller, CEO Hydrogen Refinery
Stephen Voller is the founder and CEO of Hydrogen Refinery. He is a Chartered Engineer with a track record of taking technology from concept to market. He is a recognised authority on green hydrogen, ammonia, fuel cells, renewable energy systems, energy storage technologies, batteries, and supercapacitors. He is the author of 100+ patents and inventor of Carbon-Ion that uses nanomaterials such as graphene with ionic electrolytes to improve the performance of supercapacitors.

He holds a Master's degree in Naval Engineering from the University of São Paulo. Over 25 years in executive roles at Novonesis, Praj Industries, and Clariant, he has shaped teams and operating systems to move non-proven low carbon technologies from lab to first markets and into industrial licensing. Melich has been hands-on in end-to-end structuring of €500M+ First-of-A-Kind (FOAK) projects across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, in greenfield, retrofit, or co-location setting, always with a relentless focus on bankability.
A former member of the Bio-based Industries Consortium and the Advanced Biofuels Coalition. He is an international speaker and author on how to move disruptive technologies from demo to deals and FOAK projects from feasibility to FID.
